Energy Discussion Group

Once a month the Energy Discussion Group meets to discuss topics around the energy sector.  Topics range from the hidden costs in your electric bill, the use of hydrogen for storage, new designs in nuclear reactors’ CO2 Capture, etc.

The Energy Discussion Group is led by club member Reiner Kuhr, an adjunct professor at U Mass who has worked in the electric power sector for more than 40 years and is co-founder of the Center for Academic Collaboration Initiatives.  Mr. Kuhr provides background information and economic data on all the topics discussed.

These Zoom meetings provide an opportunity for club members to better understand new innovations, real costs around energy, and answers to their questions about climate change.

The group (open to all club members) has also done on-site visits to places like Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and heard from other experts in the energy field.
